I am wondering if CR practitioners and experimenters ever meet in person. And I'm wondering if there might be such a group in Oregon...mid-Willamette Valley. Anyone from these parts?

Funny you should ask this question: You just missed The CR Society Conference -- VII. It was held last week in Las Vegas, ten years after the first one. A good time was had by all. More details are being posted elsewhere on the site.
Regarding Oregon, I have to let the Oregonians speak for themselves. Managing Director Bob Cavanaugh may have a fairly good idea, though.
