Life Without Bread: How a Low-Carbohydrate Diet Can Save Your Life
by Christian B Allan & Wolfgang Lutz
"I just finished rereading the book Life Without Bread: How a Low-Carbohydrate Diet Can Save Your Life by Christian B Allan & Wolfgang Lutz. (ISBN 0-658-00170-1)
They point out that low carbs is an old idea. They point out the historian Herodotus who tells of a meeting between Persians and the king of Ethiopia in the 5th century BCE. The punch line is the king is not surprised at the 80 year max life span of the 'dung' (Bread and wheat) eating Persians and that most Ethiopians who eat boiled meat and drank milk lived 120 years. (True or not Herodotus reported it.)...The book's low-carbohydrate theme should be of interest to all list members... Good book and worth the quick read." Eric Andersen
