The Longevity Diet by CR Society President Brian M. Delaney and Emeritus Board member Lisa Walford
This book is by a wide margin the best overall introduction to CR science and practice available. Be sure to buy the linked edition: the previous edition (with the green cover) is not nearly as good on either front.
The CR Way by Paul McGlothin and Meredith Averill
The authors’ distinct take on CR. Focuses heavily on their theories of the nutrient signaling pathways that they believe are central to the effects of CR and additional dietary rules that they hypothesize to be necessary to avoid perturbing them.
Beyond the 120 Year Diet : How to Double Your Vital Years by Dr. Roy Walford
An excellent introduction to the science of CR.
The Fast Diet by Dr. Michael Mosley and Mimi Spencer
Focuses on intermittent fasting two days a week. The outcome of Dr. Mosley’s extremely popular BBC documentary on this subject.
The Every-Other Day Diet by Dr. Krista Varady and Brian Gottlieb
A good guide to intermittent fasting by a CR researcher who has done work with both rodents and humans.
The Anti-Aging Plan: Strategies and Recipes for Extending Your Healthy Years by Dr. Roy Walford and Lisa Walford
Focuses on a system of rotating meals taken from freezable multi-meal recipes. Recipes are high-carb/low-fat.
