Sthira
Let's say hypothetically that someone you liked approached you (you = healthy young person) and complained about their unhealthy gut microbiome. You suggested a fecal transplant. All you'd need would be your poop, a blender, a turkey baster, and cajones, right?
mccoy
Thanks but no thanks man, I'd rather keep my unhealthy populace of gut bacteria.
Gordo
A transpoosion might help, but for how long? The person would have to change their diet for it to be worth it long term, and even then they might be able to just gain the improved gut biome from the diet change alone plus eating a lot of pro-biotic foods, perhaps some probiotic supplements to kick start things, but definitely fermented foods and inulin-FOS rich foods or supplements should do the trick. Apparently some people are even taking poop orally now.
