corybroo
Science Daily has an attention grabbing headline of Every Meal triggers inflammation https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2017/01/170116121912.htm The cause is the "significant" amount of bacteria in every meal. The inflamatory response activates the immune system. The inflamatory response plays an important role in sugar uptake. The macrophages around the intestines increase at meal time and produce IL-1beta which stimulates insulin production. The messenger substance IL-1beta ensures that the immune system is supplied with glucose. "Conversely, when there is a lack of nutrients, the few remaining calories must be conserved for important life functions at the expense of an immune response."
