IrenaT
I am new to CR and curious to see some research or anectodal data related to CR practitioners being able to experience meaningful improvement of chronic body process imbalances, in my particular case hormonal/neurotransmitter. I guess the biological markers improvement would implicate such changes but interested in instances where people have been able to conclude that their CR diet corrected a physiological process that was obviously impaired before starting CR. Thank you for your input.
Todd Allen
I had strong markers of metabolic syndrome and elevated liver enzyme ALT which can be a sign of NAFLD. All got better restricting calories and eliminating refined sugars and starches. I've since gone low carb (~30 g net carbs/day) and all of those bio markers are now in normal ranges and my doctor took me off medication for high blood pressure. It would be a bit strong to "conclude" that CR fixed my issues, but I think it was a significant factor.
