BrianMDelaney
Has anyone compiled, or started compiling, a list of SNPs associated with changes that might have relevance for assessing one's likely benefit from CR? Increasingly, we read about a study showing that a certain variant is associated with a different degree of benefit from reduced energy intake. In most cases, of course, the study involves obese subjects. Nonetheless, the information obtained from such studies could be useful. I was thinking, for ex., of a paper Al recent posted: Polymorphism of neuropeptide Y gene rs16147 modifies the response to a hypocaloric diet on cardiovascular risk biomarkers and adipokines. de Luis DA, Izaola O, de la Fuente B, Primo D, Aller R. J Hum Nutr Diet. 2016 Sep 7. doi: 10.1111/jhn.12406. [Epub ahead of print] PMID: 27599771 With a large enough list of these variations, someone on the fence about CR might be able to have some useful information about whether s/he could benefit.
