Saving a copy of a multi-page thread?

Recommended Posts

Yes, saw the other thread. Also very helpful!

RAADFest was as expected: lots of fun, and educational. There will be good summaries up on the web reasonably soon, I expect. If I see any particularly good ones I'll link to them here. I'm definitely going again next year.

Dean P.  made a PDF copy of the "Cold Exposure"  thread at one point.

The file is too big for me to send with my normal email service.

I could try some other means if necessary.

There are simple ways to "print  to PDF",  I believe, but I haven't looked into it.

Thanks, file received!

I'd still like to know whether there's a way to save a whole thread in one stroke. There's probably a back-end way to do it, but grabbing data from a database, by that would require asking an admin every time one wanted to get a copy of a thread.

(Note: I can never receive personal msgs. The message-loading circular thing keeps spinning, and the msgs. never load.)

I'd still like to know whether there's a way to save a whole thread in one stroke.

One VERY THEORETICAL method is to change - temporarily - "Number of posts per topic page" from 20 to 700. I don't know if that would blow something up.

This thread suggests print-to-pdf of each page and merging:

[this link requires a login!] Pertinent portion:

You can print each page, and merge the prints... There is a print option in the share links at the bottom of each page.

There isn't an export / print option for an entire multi-page topic, though.

I'm not aware of what software does the print merge (while maintaining text search).

I've seen that in Firefox from time to time so I click on the down arrow by my log-in name and navigate to "Personal Messenger".

I like Firefox but suspect it's becoming the red-headed stepchild of browsers and often might be third or fourth in testing and development of pages.
