Cancer Genes

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to CR and I have also been recently diagnosed with a rare disease called Birt Hogg Dube Syndrome. The most serious manifestation of this disease is kidney cancer. It is caused by a mutation in the FLCN gene that inhibits human growth hormone. The gene prevents cells manufacturing of a protein that inhibits tumor growth. I do not have any tumors now but I am 43 and the mean age of development of cancer for people with this disease is 48.

I was just wondering if anyone knows of research concerning diseases like this and CR? Any thoughts any one has would be appreciated.
