Monounsaturated fats (MUFAs) thread [like oleic acid 18:1], the perfect calorie source? Any downsides to eating too much?

optimisingnutrition shows that fatness levels have gone up over the past few decades, as have MUFAs, but this doesn't say much about *healthy* MUFAs from non-processed food.

fireinabottle is MUFA-skeptical, but it mostly talks about *weight* and *insulin resistance*, not aging in itself. It's possible to increase fat synthesis w/o increasing aging rate, and you'll notice if you're gaining weight well before you'll notice if aging rate increases
