KHashmi316
How Not to Age — Presentation [NutritionFacts.org] Quote Premiered 3 hours ago In this lecture (recorded live), Dr. Greger offers a sneak peek into his latest book, How Not to Age. Inspired by the dietary and lifestyle patterns of centenarians and residents of “blue zone” regions where people live the longest, Dr. Greger presents simple, accessible, and evidence-based methods to preserve the body functions that keep you feeling youthful, both physically and mentally. I’m thrilled to release this presentation based on How Not to Age, my new book coming out in December after three long years in the making. If you haven’t seen it yet, check out the book trailer: https://nutritionfacts.org/video/book.... Preorders are available now. https://nutritionfacts.org/book/how-n... If you plan to buy How Not to Age, please consider preordering. All preorders count towards first week sales, which factor into The New York Times Best Sellers list calculations. So, the more preorders How Not to Age receives, the more likely it will make the list, which could help expose millions to the message of healthy eating. In fact, the book lands on December 5–perfect timing for holiday gifts for everyone in your life you want to live long healthy lives. So, consider getting some of your holiday shopping done early by preordering a whole stack! As always, all proceeds I receive from all of my books are donated to charity. drewab
This is a fascinating and amazing video! I had previously seen it as I paid for it via a Dr. Greger webinar, but it's so good that I've watched it multiple times!
KHashmi316
Regardless of the validity of the claims or conclusions (or ultimate outcomes) of the book or its academic basis, the production values of Greger's videos and presentations are high. Editing, highlighting, cutting to the chase. THIS is the way to conduct "longitudinal" synthesis in the modern era of short-form video. mccoy
I'm more than halfway through the video. My thought is the same as KHashmi above, some of the claims done in the book/presentation seem to be a little overblown (like the superlative antiaging effect of spermidine). The sources are accurately chosen among the pro-vegan literature. Still, the presentation is highly entertaining, the quality is there and there is probably also some scattered truth among all the exaggerated claims he makes on the properties of plant-based food. Last but not least, it is good to have a counterpoint to the muscle-centric, exercise-centric model of Peter Attia. With Dr. Greger, we have here a nutrition-centric model. What I do, is not to concentrate on the differences, but rather to pick the best of both worlds. Edited November 26, 2023 by mccoy
